HARRISBURG, Pa.—Nearly 200 children and adults will receive free eye exams on October 16-17, 2026, thanks to a partnership between The Salvation Army Harrisburg Capital City Region, the Pennsylvania Optometric Association (POA), and VSP Eyes of Hope. Most patients served will be school-aged children and optometrists will conduct on-site eye exams as volunteers at the Salvation Army, according to an announcement from VSP. Participants whose exams show a need for vision correction will be provided with free prescription glasses through this initiative.
