Our commitment
B-Seen is a small, founder-built platform. We are committed to continuously improving accessibility so people with a wide range of abilities can use the site to find work or to hire. We welcome feedback and we act on it.
Standards we work toward
Our long-term target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. We have not been independently audited against the standard and we do not claim full conformance. We are working toward it in good faith, with the limitations honestly disclosed below.
What we do today
- Semantic HTML for document structure and screen-reader compatibility
- Keyboard navigation across the platform
- Descriptive alt text on meaningful images
- ARIA labels and roles for icon-only buttons and form controls
- Form labels and error messages programmatically associated with their inputs
- Visible focus indicators on interactive elements
- Responsive design that adapts to different screen sizes and zoom levels
- Dark and light theme support with reduced motion respected when the OS requests it
Known limitations
We test the site regularly and we keep an honest list of issues we know about. As of the date above, the most notable items are:
- Some accent-colored text (links, badges, secondary labels) can fall below the WCAG 2.1 AA contrast threshold in our dark theme. We are adjusting the color tokens in stages.
- Job listings, equipment listings, and news articles sourced from third parties (Adzuna, eBay, RSS publishers) may not meet our accessibility standards because we do not control the source content.
- User-uploaded resumes and documents may not be accessible if the original file is not tagged properly.
- A small number of icon-only decorative elements may not be fully hidden from assistive technologies.
Assistive technologies we test against
- Screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, TalkBack)
- Screen magnification software
- Speech recognition software
- Keyboard-only navigation
If something is blocking you, please tell us
If any part of B-Seen is hard to use because of a disability, email us and we will work with you. We aim to respond within two (2) business days and to resolve the specific barrier within thirty (30) days when feasible. If we cannot resolve it, we will tell you why and offer an alternative.
Please include the page URL, the specific issue, and the assistive technology you are using (if any). The more concrete the report, the faster we can fix it.
