The introduction of tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α inhibitors has successfully transformed the management of noninfectious uveitis over the past 2 decades. The Adalimumab in active and inactive non-infectious uveitis (VISUAL) trials established adalimumab as the first and currently only anti-TNF therapy approved for noninfectious intermediate uveitis, posterior uveitis, and panuveitis, demonstrating effective corticosteroid-sparing disease control in both active and inactive disease.1,2 Subsequent studies have served to refine our understanding of the role of adalimumab in uveitis management.
