LAKE FOREST, Calif.—STAAR Surgical Company (NASDAQ: STAA), a global leader in phakic IOLs with the EVO family of Implantable Collamer Lenses (EVO ICL) for vision correction, announced that its board of directors, at a regularly scheduled meeting, authorized a share repurchase program under which the company may repurchase up to $50 million of its outstanding common stock. The company disclosed that it intends to fund its share repurchases using organic free cash flow and cash on hand. Under the program, STAAR may buy back shares through open market purchases, private transactions, structured agreements, block purchases, or Rule 10b5-1 plans, the announcement noted.
