NEWARK, N.J.—A federal judge has certified a class action lawsuit against Hubble Contacts, a direct-to-consumer company that offers online contact lens subscription services, allowing California consumers to pursue claims that the online contact lens subscription company allegedly sold them lenses different from those prescribed by their eye doctors. U.S. District Judge George H. Wu of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California granted class certification in Africa v. Vision Path Inc., a lawsuit against the New York-based company that operates Hubble’s subscription service and sells Hubble-brand contact lenses. Court records identify more than 95,500 California customers who purchased the company’s lenses.
