Retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) typically presents with a high degree of symmetry in disease characteristics, progression, and severity, which has traditionally guided management decisions.1,2 However, ROP may present asymmetrically, such that only one eye initially meets treatment criteria. 3 These cases pose challenges regarding treatment timing and laterality, particularly in quaternary care settings. This study evaluates treatment patterns and outcomes in infants with asymmetric treatment-warranted ROP (TW-ROP) and compare these with symmetrically treated cases.
