As the urgency of climate change grows, there is increasing pressure on companies, especially large corporations, to make a clear commitment to reducing their greenhouse gas emissions, according to a study by University of St. Gallen in collaboration with Chatham University and Cornell University. Consequently, many companies publish sustainability reports to detail their climate goals and review the progress of their efforts. This practice enables stakeholders to understand a company's climate pledges and evaluate its performance against those stated objectives, the study indicated. Despite these efforts, a key question remains unanswered: how consistently do companies uphold and execute their climate commitments over the long term?
