ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.—Lenstec, a Florida-based medical device company, announced it has appointed Blake Michaels as chief executive officer. In his new role, the company advised Michaels will focus on scaling operations, strengthening surgeon engagement and advancing Lenstec’s intraocular (IOL) portfolio, including its ClearView platform. He succeeds founder John Clough, who is retiring after more than 30 years and will remain chairman to support the transition, the company said. “Blake’s appointment marks a major step forward for Lenstec as we enter a period of substantial commercial growth,” said Jimmy Chacko, chief operating officer of Lenstec in a statement. “His experience, vision, and understanding of the ophthalmic community will elevate our ability to serve surgeons and patients worldwide.”
