As my term as Editor-in-Chief of Ophthalmology comes to its end, I would like to abuse my editorial power to thank you, the reader, as well as our wonderful editorial board members, reviewers, Academy leadership, and our phenomenal journal editorial staff for allowing me the privilege of stewarding this journal for the past 4+ years. As I prepare to pass the torch, I would like to take this opportunity to address some of the opportunities and challenges that face this venerable journal in fulfilling its mission of curating and disseminating the most important and highest quality literature for you.
