OBERKOCHEN, Germany—The Zeiss Group has announced that it recently had its climate targets independently verified by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), confirming that the company is actively working to support the goals of the Paris Agreement. The company stated it has committed to reducing its absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 by 42 percent by 2030 compared with its baseline year of 2023/2024. This will be achieved through a combination of measures, including improving energy efficiency, accelerating fleet electrification, implementing technology changes in infrastructure and the ongoing expansion of renewable energy capacities, the announcement said.
